To do a task with soul, creativity and love.

Meraki is the third in my CONSCIOUSNESS series.

This painting explores design and architecture through the ages, featuring one of my favourite pieces of art, the fresco by Raphael – The School of Athens in Vatican City.

Background: Bark Spider Web, according to Darwin the bark spider is natures architect.

  • Colosseum built nearly 2000 years ago. Even in its decaying state a masterpiece of architecture.
  • Red Ant has an amazing gift of building an underground empire. It is completely industrial and self-sufficient.
  • Rose Window a feature of Gothic architecture. Found all over Europe.
  • Acanthus Plant Scrolls are found in outdated calligraphy manuscripts.
  • Aquaduct called Pont du Gard is a 1st century AD Roman aqueduct bridge, not in use but still preserved.
  • Eiffel Tower is wrought-iron lattice. 300 meters tall. Global icon. Finished in 1889
  • Couture and Millinery is the design and manufacture of fashionable clothing to a client’s requirements.
  • The Cord Phaeton Car 1937 not designed for speed. Streamlined, with a soft top.
  • School of Athens a fresco by Raphael, my sheer fascination of this majestic piece of work made me want to copy some of it. A commission by Pope Julius II to decorate the rooms now called the Stanze di Raffaello in the Apostolic Palace in Vatican City.

A congregation of ancient mathematicians, philosophers and scientists with Plato and Aristotle featured in the centre. I have specifically featured Heraclitus. Heraclitus was famous for ‘The only constant in life is change.’

  • Acantus Plant Art
  • Pink Rose designed by God.
  • Honeybee, industrious and community driven workers. Known for their construction of perennial nests within cavities containing hexagonal cells made of secreted wax. They routinely regurgitate digested carbohydrates and surplus food storage in the form of honey.
  • Meraki written in Greek
