One warm summer afternoon, I was sitting in my studio. I had been writing in my creative journal. The journal is a stream of consciousness journal. I find it reaches into the forgotten crevasses of my heart. Often, after writing I paint things I feel that I had not contemplated or entertained before. My journal is a resource and productive for me. It unleashes interesting ideas. Maybe they were flash thoughts at some stage. Our brains are lightning-like and the concepts and pictures can flicker past without too much remembrance or recognition.
In my studio I had a large square white canvas. It had been patiently waiting to be used. When planning a painting the composition must fit and fill the space and compliment the area allocated.
I got up from my desk and roughly drew one large protea with leaves, and it filled the void perfectly. This is how Rosa Carina was born.
Rosa Carina is playful and colourful and beckons you to enjoy her beauty.
